Falling hard never felt so good.

Pair skaters Courtney and Mark have one shot left at their Olympic dream. They vow not to let anything get in their way, especially not Josh and Stephanie, the wealthy and talented brother and sister team.

The heart doesn’t always listen to reason, though…

The more time Courtney spends with sweet, shy Josh, the harder she falls for him. But they are on opposite sides of the competition, and their futures are headed in opposite directions. Will their friendship blossom into more or are their paths too different to cross?

This is the first book in the ICE series. The series continues with book #2, LOSING THE ICE.

My Review

A companion to Life on the Edge, Crossing the Ice follows pair skater Courtney. It is so nice to see the familiar faces again of Em and Sergei and how there lives have travelled in the years between this book and theirs, and also how their influence has shaped these new MCs.

My favourite part about Comeaux's writing his the way that she really draws you in and makes you feel at one with the character. Throughout the novel, I found myself getting stomach flips and skin tingling sensations right along with Court, which is an amazing feat for an author to achieve. The only downside to this is, it means that I also get the not so good feelings like despair and rejection - which is awesome, but also kind of sucks at the same time.

There is a nice balance in the romance department, with  there being enough adorably cute scenes shared with Court and Josh, to weigh out the slightly more hot and heavy ones. It is as much about what is written and what is left for you to read between the lines, which is done beautifully in Crossing the Ice - and all without the plot falling through the cracks, or getting confusing. It's also refreshing to read a NA book that isn't constantly shoving sex at you.

Josh. What a cutie he is! He's like a combination of all the good qualities of every boyfriend I've had (both real and imaginary), plus all the ones I've yet to find. Add to that a hot bod and a ton of natural talent, can you really blame Court for falling for him? I know I can't. ;)

As a reasonably fluffy read, Crossing the Ice is a cute and entertaining novel that will make you laugh, Awww, and cringe. A perfect read for when you want something light to read.
